2015 in Review

Okay. It’s 2016.

Which means that before I can even begin to put together where I’m going, I should probably review where I’ve already been. 2015 was a year of serious sartorial exploration for me, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

Last winter was a lot of mini skirts/dress with longer outerwear layers. The plaid coat, as you’ll later see, has made a return this year in all it’s gold and navy glory! My collab with Cindy & Johnny (middle) was super exciting as well, and that blazer is gonna take me a long way in the art of fashionable business dress (check back in in February).

After starting my job at Free People in April, I really began to explore the west coast dressing I’ve always been attracted to. My style has always been a mix of the casual and the chic – but finding the balance has been the difficult part. Bringing in more quality, casual pieces, helped me refine that approach to dressing and I haven’t gone back!

I really like mixing it up, don’t I? These are two of my favorite outfits of the year, and it’s no coincidence that they both include my Cecile brown suede boots from Free People. I made some lifelong friends in these staple boots.

The fall treated me well – a new partnership with my photographer Haley, a trip to New York, and a newfound appreciation for the season all added up to a really great fashion season.

This outfit was a personal favorite because it showcased a new approach to winter dressing – don’t worry too much about the weather. This winter I’ll be trying to brace myself a little bit more for harsh weather in the name of dressing well.

So this was 2015. Can’t wait to see what happens in 2016!
