Tennis Skirt, American Apparel / Coat, Asos / Booties, Jeffrey Campbell / Hat, LF / Bag, Rebecca Minkoff / Tank, H&M (similar)
With the weather beginning to really cool down here, I was thankful for a day where I could get away with wearing a skirt. The tennis skirt is quickly turning up across multiple brands and after picking mine up a couple of months ago, it has become one of my favorite pieces. Making white items (specifically white skirts) work when it begins to chill down can be a little tricky. But I just stuck to my usual pairing of all-black, threw in a camel winter hat, and I think it comes together quite well.

As I frantically scanned the collective family rack of unused clothes for something to wear, my eyes landed on this beautiful Burberry coat that I had never laid eyes on before. Obviously this was an exciting moment for me, because who wouldn’t get excited over a Burberry Coat? I couldn’t wait to try it on and put my own twist on the classic long black coat with the Peter Pan collar. As I have spoken about in the past, I like to try to take something that isn’t necessarily my style and make it interesting by wearing all typical “me pieces” with it. My Converse (although a new and brighter pair) and a beanie paying homage to the Canadian Olympic team seemed to do the trick. xx
Boots, Jeffrey Campbell / Hat, LF / Shirt, Zara / Turtleneck, Zara / Jacket, H&M / Jeans, American Apparel
Though layering isn’t very necessary over here in California at the moment, I will always opt for a couple of layers when I can. A structured jacket over a slouchy shirt is one of my favorite forms of layering, if you haven’t noticed in recent posts. But the real stars of the show here are my new Jeffrey Campbell boots and the fedora! I’ve been hankering over a pair of Jeffrey Campbell’s for ages, and when I found these beauties at the fabulous LF Sale I couldn’t resist! As for the fedora, at this point it really seemed like a staple. I kept picturing my outfits with a fedora on top, and I couldn’t wait any longer to make those outfits a reality! xx
Jacket, H&M / Turtleneck, H&M / Jeans, American Apparel / Boots, Topshop / Hat, BP
I noticed today that I haven’t ever shared this fabulous jacket with you all! I purchased it back in December for my trip to New York, and boy was that a great decision. I love this jacket (and all fur jackets) because they can take almost any outfit and add some serious luxe to it, without going over the top like sometimes a long coat can. Strange as it may sound, fur coats can even be practical for somebody who lives a colder climate. Instead of throwing a leather jacket or a blazer over a simple outfit, a fur jacket during the winter adds an extra “umph” and shields you from the cold quite nicely. xx
