Cozying Up

Free People Boots, Skirt, Scarf / Vintage Denim Jacket

This scarf has to be one of my favorite new pieces for the Autumn/Winter season. It’s absolutely massive (à la Lenny Kravitz) and so cozy I could wrap myself in it for the whole season. Before it gets tooooo cold I decided to pair it with a midi skirt (which is actually part of an amazing set) and my go-to fall booties. Seriously – these things have been glued to my feet ever since the beginning of October and I don’t really see this stopping anytime soon.

In other news, this is the second round of pictures from my new Montreal Photographer Haley and the excitement surrounding our partnership only grows. Check out her blog and her Instagram!

One Coat, Two Ways

Warning: There’s a lot of pictures today. Enjoy!

Okay – so as noted, I’m posting a lot more pictures than usual. But after seeing them can you blame me?! Last week I teamed up with blogger friend-fellow Montreal resident-photographer Haley, and it was seriously a match made in heaven. We’re so happy with how the pictures turned out and are so excited to continue working together!

Now, with regards to the outfit – by now you’re probably used to me wearing a ton of Free People, and now that I’ve been exposed to it that probably won’t stop. This “car coat” is the new keystone to my wardrobe. I actually can throw it over everything, and it immediately adds an element of cool effortlessness that I love. The title says “One Coat, Two Ways” – so you can definitely expect another post coming at you featuring this staple!

NYC Photo Diary

As promised in my last post: a complete NYC 2-Day Extravaganza Photo Diary.

Above all, it must be noted how absolutely gorgeous upstate New York is in the fall. I realize I’m probably really late to the party on this one but I had to note it.

On our first full day, we explored Brooklyn in the morning, getting coffee and of course stopping at Beacon’s closet – hands down the best thrift store I’ve ever been to. Found an unused Loeffler Randall bag, a full 3.1 Phillip Lim suit, Dior Jacket, Missoni heels – the works. It was amazing. *sighs* I love New York.

After we got back to the island we walked around Soho, and met up with one of my best friends from home! Sadly I didn’t get a picture with her, but you really have no reason to mistrust me on the matter so I’ll leave it at that. We shot an outfit post, and managed to get this picture of me pondering ~stuff~ in front of a classic NYC cab.

So that was Sunday. On Monday, we totally switched gears and dove head first into the Uptown Experience, window shopping on 5th Avenue and munching at Fred’s (in Barney’s New York), along with a restaurant full of “ladies at lunch.” Here’s what I wore:

Zara Blouse, Free People Jeans, Free People Boots

The actual coat of my dreams, given it’s practically a replica of Ms. Penny Lane’s (*swoon*).

After lunch, a stroll along Central Park, and a quick stop by the Plaza for a photo-op, we finally headed back downtown to hang in Greenwich Village. We got coffee, looked at puppies (check the adorable puggle below), and generally just tried to forget we’d be headed back to reality the next day.

As a last hoorah, we traveled to the Meatpacking District and hopped on the High Line bandwagon. We watched the sun set over skylines, and soaked in the last rays of New York sunshine we could. The trip was too short, but I guess that just means I’ll have to go back sooner than I thought.

Aritzia’s #FallforUs

Aritzia Picks
It’s officially the most exciting time of year for the fashion industry. September issues are lining the shelves, designers are finalizing their runways for fashion week – NYFW is in full swing – and promotional Fall shoots are coming at you from every angle. So it’s no surprise that this time of year is one of the only times of year where I appreciate the promotional emails I receive on a daily basis. This morning, one such email caught my eye. Aritzia has a new campaign entitled “#FallforUs,” where they ask their customers to tell them what they’re falling for from their new arrivals. I will most definitely be contributing, but I thought I may as well share with you all what I have fallen in love with from Aritzia’s new fall arrivals! Aritzia never fails, especially this season.
