Dress, Free People

Part II of the road trip! After Big Sur (and an outfit change), we headed back to Carmel for a walk down the main street in the afternoon. This dress was perfect for the occasion – it’s breezy enough for the beach but the pattern makes it interesting enough for the quirky town! Whenever I wear this dress I like to let it speak for itself, that’s why I usually keep the outfit simple by pairing it with some simple black booties and as shown here, a plain scarf or jacket if needed.

This past weekend I took a little adventure down to Big Sur and Carmel for the day – the best decision I’ve made in weeks. Not only did I spot Gerard Butler in a restaurant, but I spotted two whales playing near the beach and got to enjoy some amazing weather! (Last time I ventured down to Big Sur, it was cloudy the entire weekend). Needless to say, the day was amazing, and it reminded me that I need to get out and go on more adventures like this one.

As for what I’m wearing, I’m of course decked out in Free People – I got this shirt for my mom for Mother’s Day and according to her, she “hasn’t gotten a real chance to wear it!” It’s true, I’ve stolen it enough to make┬áme debate buying myself one. Here’s another take on the Free People look for my FP series – this one’s a little more tomboyish, with subdued tones and a laid back vibe.

What are you guys getting up to this summer? Any adventure ideas for me?
