Big Sur, Again

Long time, no post! I have to apologize – school has been on my tail for the past couple of weeks and I can’t catch a couple of minutes to work on a post for you guys! With that said, I totally forgot to post these amazing photos from my road trip to Big Sur over spring break.

As you may recall, I went to Big Sur last summer and realized my undying love for the small stretch of coast. So when my friend suggested a road trip for a couple of days, it was naturally the first place I thought of.

We hopped in her Jeep and made the three hour trek (a small price to pay), where I got to show her the famous cliffs and waves for the very first time! It was as magical as ever – I can confidently say that of all the places I’ve been, Big Sur is my favorite.

I experience a different sort of excitement here. The absolute, raw beauty is unlike any other you’ll ever see and it creates a sort of hope for the future. When you’re driving down Highway 1, taking in the sea breeze and sun rays, you just know that you’ll visit a lot of places in your lifetime, but you’ll make it back here again.

This past weekend I took a little adventure down to Big Sur and Carmel for the day – the best decision I’ve made in weeks. Not only did I spot Gerard Butler in a restaurant, but I spotted two whales playing near the beach and got to enjoy some amazing weather! (Last time I ventured down to Big Sur, it was cloudy the entire weekend). Needless to say, the day was amazing, and it reminded me that I need to get out and go on more adventures like this one.

As for what I’m wearing, I’m of course decked out in Free People – I got this shirt for my mom for Mother’s Day and according to her, she “hasn’t gotten a real chance to wear it!” It’s true, I’ve stolen it enough to make me debate buying myself one. Here’s another take on the Free People look for my FP series – this one’s a little more tomboyish, with subdued tones and a laid back vibe.

What are you guys getting up to this summer? Any adventure ideas for me?
