One Coat, Two Ways: Part II

Finally – the second part to my favorite two-part post ever.

The more I wear this coat, the more it becomes a part of my identity. I wish I was kidding, but it’s true. This coat has pretty much defined my A/W ’15 look – I literally throw it over whatever I’m wearing to go anywhere, whether it’s class, out to dinner, or anything in between.

Here I’ve clearly tried to dress it up a little, while also adhering to that super-cool grey on grey action that’s been coming up as inspiration a lot lately.

This look is perfect for those fall days where it’s a ~tiny~ bit warmer than usual and suddenly you feel like dressing up just that little bit more for your day. If you feel like it could be too dressy for class (honestly this would not be too dressy for class at McGill – people go crazy up here and I might attempt this as a school look tomorrow in fact), you could easily bring it down a notch by swapping the heeled booties for flat ones, or even converse and warm socks!

This past weekend I took a little adventure down to Big Sur and Carmel for the day – the best decision I’ve made in weeks. Not only did I spot Gerard Butler in a restaurant, but I spotted two whales playing near the beach and got to enjoy some amazing weather! (Last time I ventured down to Big Sur, it was cloudy the entire weekend). Needless to say, the day was amazing, and it reminded me that I need to get out and go on more adventures like this one.

As for what I’m wearing, I’m of course decked out in Free People – I got this shirt for my mom for Mother’s Day and according to her, she “hasn’t gotten a real chance to wear it!” It’s true, I’ve stolen it enough to make┬áme debate buying myself one. Here’s another take on the Free People look for my FP series – this one’s a little more tomboyish, with subdued tones and a laid back vibe.

What are you guys getting up to this summer? Any adventure ideas for me?
