Overalls, Brandy Melville / Hat, Tank, Necklace, & Sunnies, Free People
The title “Green Thumb” seemed like the most appropriate way to summarize this series of photos. While it ties together the perfect olive color of my overalls and the complete farmer’s vibe going on, it is also the last phrase anybody should associate with me. Simply put, my thumbs are anything but green. But a girl can dream and dress up, right?
In all seriousness, this is a big day for me because I never thought I’d be able to wear overalls. Being blunt, I just don’t have the <<<twig-like>>> body shape you need most of the time to make them work. But alas I’ve finally found the perfect pair to reverse all of these beliefs. It took a while, but I’ve found my soulmate overalls and I’m never letting them go.
Coat, Cindy & Johnny* / Dress, Brandy Melville / Bag, Zara
I’m so excited to introduce Cindy & Johnny, a brand that has recently been brought to my attention and who generously gifted me this gorgeous spring coat! Although not my typical style, this coat called out to me as I browsed the Cindy & Johnny site with its structure and unique color blocking. The lightness of the coat will make it perfect for the spring and summer months – it’s so hard to find a nice coat for special occasions with its 80+ degrees out, but I’m confident I’ll be getting an unbelievable amount of use out of this one! I wanted the coat to stand out so I paired it with a simple little black dress and booties, along with a new Zara bag that I’m totally obsessed with!
Check out all the other ace products Cindy & Johnny have to offer on their site, and follow them here: Instagram, Twitter, & Facebook.
*Disclaimer: coat was gifted.
Poncho, Free People / Dress, Brandy Melville / Turtleneck, Zara / Boots, Jeffrey Campbell
The poncho is back! I really wanted to show it both ways that I wear it – over pants and dresses. Wearing this poncho over a dress makes me feel like the free-est spirit in the world. Everything’s so breezy and comfortable – I feel invincible! I also loved pairing this little black dress with the layered turtleneck; it’s a great way to make your summery dresses work in the winter!
Sweater, Urban Outfitters / Coat, ASOS / Bag, 33 Acres / Turtleneck, Brandy Melville / Hat, (somewhere in Paris?)
I think I’ve been living in a French city too long… But I found this beret in my drawer and it turns out I actually love it as a real hat, not just a souvenir! Keeping it casual-University-chic, I think this outfit would be perfect for a casual picnic date or something along those lines. Also you can’t go wrong with a canvas bag for a picnic, and this one is my new absolute favorite and it’s from the adorable craft beer company my brother works for!
