These jeans spoke to me on an emotional level, and despite their seeming lack of versatility, I had to have them. But, to my pleasant surprise, I have actually been able to style them a variety of ways! This has to be one of my favorites.
As you know, I’ve been a fan of denim on denim for a while now. I even published a post on how to make it your own! I love this short sleeved chambray shirt because it gives me the ability to do my beloved Canadian tuxedo look in the heat of the summer without melting into a big puddle of blue.
I also have to admit, all the blue denim I’ve been wearing these days really goes well with the environment here in Vancouver. Everything is either blue or green here – a refreshing look from my usual greys and browns in Montreal or my golds in California!
I find it extremely hard to believe that as I write this post I’m suddenly a bit nostalgic for winter. Montreal experienced a brief couple of warmer days and it was beyond exciting, but since then its chilled down again and I honestly can’t complain. It turns out Winter outfits can actually be fun to style when you’re not just dressing to survive!
This camel coat has actually been my best friend this winter and it’s pretty miraculous that this is the first you’re seeing of it. The warmth is unbelievable, especially considering that I bought this coat from Topshop back in September.
But it all worked out! Because in addition to it just being a really warm coat, this winter also wasn’t as bad as last year’s. So I ended up wearing this coat almost as much as my arctic-level Canada Goose.
Free People Poncho, Jeans / Asos Coat / Jeffrey Campbell Booties
It’s officially cold here in Montreal which means that this poncho can now go over my fall coats to double the warmth. The coziness that this thing brings is unreal, and its festive colors bring me suuuuch joy in these favorite Fall months of mine. Whenever I wear the poncho, however, the rest of the outfit has to be plain Jane otherwise I look like a maniac. This goes for pretty much any patterned poncho, in my opinion. So when I do break this piece out, I make sure to keep it simple with dark jeans, black boots, and either a black sweater or simple jacket underneath.
I would especially recommend a poncho as we head into the cold season – the amount of wear you’ll get out of it is way more than expected and the extra layer of warmth it brings is priceless!
Free People Boots, Skirt, Scarf / Vintage Denim Jacket
This scarf has to be one of my favorite new pieces for the Autumn/Winter season. It’s absolutely massive (à la Lenny Kravitz) and so cozy I could wrap myself in it for the whole season. Before it gets tooooo cold I decided to pair it with a midi skirt (which is actually part of an amazing set) and my go-to fall booties. Seriously – these things have been glued to my feet ever since the beginning of October and I don’t really see this stopping anytime soon.
In other news, this is the second round of pictures from my new Montreal Photographer Haley and the excitement surrounding our partnership only grows. Check out her blog and her Instagram!
