As unsensible as leather on leather in the middle of June sounds, it’s actually something I’ve been considering a lot lately. There’s something about leather that makes everybody feel cool, or free, and I can only help but feel that summer also makes us feel this way. If we overlap the two, who knows how many people would be confidently **swaggering** around right now. In addition to these thoughts, consider the massive upswing of suede styles currently in stores. People are willing to put themselves into trendy(ish) suede to summer fashion – why not our ever-in-style leather?
Again, I must emphasize my complete insanity for even suggesting leather in this season, but these are just some thoughts I’ve been exploring. When the weather is even somewhat forgiving this summer, you can rest assured that I’ll probably be melting somewhere dressed head to toe in leather.

The title “Green Thumb” seemed like the most appropriate way to summarize this series of photos. While it ties together the perfect olive color of my overalls and the complete farmer’s vibe going on, it is also the last phrase anybody should associate with me. Simply put, my thumbs are anything but green. But a girl can dream and dress up, right?
In all seriousness, this is a big day for me because I never thought I’d be able to wear overalls. Being blunt, I just don’t have the <<<twig-like>>> body shape you need most of the time to make them work. But alas I’ve finally found the perfect pair to reverse all of these beliefs. It took a while, but I’ve found my soulmate overalls and I’m never letting them go.

With summer vacation only two weeks away, photos like these make me unbearably excited for what this summer will bring! I’m extremely proud to announce that I’ll be working at Free People this summer, a company that I’ve always admired for the lifestyle that they present. (Who doesn’t want to be a free spirit, and dress amazingly at the same time?) Along with that, I’ve got some exciting new ideas for the blog, and a very stylish ClosetCraze online store in the works…
I can’t wait for you all to see!
Blazer, Topshop (similar) / Jacket, Earl’s Jeans (similar) / Turtleneck, Brandy Melville / Skirt, Forever 21 / Vans Sneakers
I’ve been eying these sneakers for a while now and when they went on sale I just couldn’t pass them up. To me, Vans scream California – they’re iconic to the area – and I know I’ll be get a ton of wear out of them this summer! This blazer is also a new favorite purchase of mine. It’s light and loose, and adds the perfect amount of polish to practically any outfit. It’s one of those things wear you just throw it over whatever you’re wearing without even thinking about it – I love those kinds of pieces!
I’m so lucky that I got to get out of the cold for a bit. It really allowed me to start gathering inspiration for spring and summer, and this outfit shows just that!
