Vintage Suede Blazer / Free People Sweater / Free People Jeans / Vintage Scarf / Dr. Marten Boots
Okay, it’s officially Fall. Does that mean I can start obsessively posting autumn looks?
The answer is yes, and to kick things off I’m posting one of my favorite looks of the season. This oversized blazer was hidden in the back of one of those cliche vintage stores on Haight Street, and it’s actually perfect. Color aside, it screams fall layering and I’ll definitely be whipping it out a lot on those crisp October days. The scarf, which was also amazingly found on the same day as the blazer (amazing because they go so well together) was another major source of excitement because it’s such a cool way of transitioning the summery bandana trend into the fall season. I can’t wait for you guys to see all of the fall looks I’ve got in store for you!
Jacket, Topshop / Blouse, Jeans, and Boots, Free People
The original inspiration for this post came from the Victorian vibes I was getting from both my Grandmother’s garden and this favorite blouse of mine. You’ve seen it featured before as part of a very pirate-y ensemble, and now you’re catching it again as it turns me into a Disney Prince. I don’t mind, though – I rarely explore menswear themes. Sometimes, as extensive menswear-themed collections from this past NYFW show, being the prince as opposed to the princess can be quite fun sometimes.
Dress, Urban Outfitters / Boots, Free People / Leather Jacket, AllSaints / Hat, Free People / Sunnies, YSL
An outfit for those days when you’re not sure if it’s summer or fall (but you’re kind of hoping it’s on the fall side). It’s an incredibly basic thing to recommend that you “throw a leather jacket over a light dress” to achieve that perfect balance, and that’s exactly what I’m telling you to do. Because who ever looked bad in a leather jacket? Here, because I just can’t wait for fall, I styled a more summery, 70’s style dress with warm fall colors and textures.
Also – I can’t not acknowledge the fact that fashion week is coming up – keep an eye out for some commentary by me!
Free People Dress / Free People Shoes / Urban Outfitters Hat / YSL Sunnies
This outfit was supposed to have a leather jacket, but the weather really wasn’t having any of it. I’m now in Montreal and even though it’s September I don’t even think I could get away with wearing this much clothing in the weather we’re getting up here! (Meaning, it’s really hot and will be it seems for a while).
Even though I’ve got fall on the mind and my last two posts exemplify this, I guess I’ll just have to accept the hot weather and try to appreciate it while it lasts.
